Is it a bird, plane, or flying saucer?

This week on Photo Frenzy, my sisters and I are sharing night pictures.

I went out into my backyard to practice my photography a little bit.  I set up the tripod and tried focusing on tiny stars in the sky (not that easy).

In this picture you can see a plane flying by.  The shutter was open for 15 seconds.  It makes a pretty straight line, right?

Right before the airplane flew by, I saw another “flying object.”  I didn’t really think much of it until I compared the airplane picture to the next two.

I was playing with shutter speeds, so the two pictures are pretty different.  The picture on the far left was taken with an 11 second shutter.  The picture on the right was a 6 second shutter.  My camera stayed at the same height, but I did move it to the right a little to follow the blinking light.  I was surprised that it wasn’t straight like the airplane.  What was it?  A satellite, or UFO’s?
